I am so glad Stanley was able to visit for a couple of weeks! It is a beautiful time of year to visit Washington. It has been sunny and warm outside. Most of the year it is cloudy where I live, that is why there are so many green trees and bushes. My grandpa and I took Stanley to Snoqualmie Falls. Many tourist like to hike down to that waterfall because it is so pretty. I gathered some sugar maples leaves on the way down the trail because they are starting to change color.
Every Monday my mom takes us on a walk in the forest and we do a nature study. Stanley joined us. There is LOTS of nature to study. While Stanley was here we studied acorns (from Oak trees), wooly bear caterpillars and slugs. There are a TON of slugs in Washington. We don't touch them because they are so slimy... so we pick them up with leaves instead.
Whenever we visit my Great Grandpa and Great Grandma we drive on the freeway pass the temple. Usually we sing "I love to see the Temple" as we pass by the temple. This time mom let us stop and show Stanley around. I think he felt at home while he was there.
On Saturdays I go to my brothers soccer games. Usually we watch the game from under an umbrella. They play rain or shine.
One of my favorite things to eat is crab. It is caught fresh from the ocean by one of our neighbors. We live pretty close (1/2 hour) from the ocean. I wish we could've taken Stanley there as he told me there is not an ocean next to his home in Utah, but we didn't have time. At least we were able to feed him some fresh seafood.
We live in the town of Monroe. It is not in the big city. The city is growing though. They are currently building a Walmart. A lot of it is farm land. As I drive from one place to another I pass a lot of cows. They are a little bit stinky, but I still like them.
We took Stanley to the pumpkin patch.
He helped me pick out a pumpkin to carve.
Before Stanley left he got to experience what most of our year is like... WET. I don't stay indoors when it rains. I put on my raincoat and boots and go outside. I dig puddles for frogs to lay their eggs in, put out bird feeders and am always looking for worms and slugs. I love Washington because it is full of nature! I am glad Stanley came to experience it with me!
