Summer is Over

Robert is now back in school. And I am picking up more hours at work. So the vacationing and swimming is on hold until next year. This is Juno Robert and Tanner enjoying the day at lake Sammamish.

A Week Ago...

My birthday was last Monday. We had a birthday party at 11:00 that night when Robert got off work. Chris & Heather, Sarah & David and us were there. Oh and since the begining of my lifetime my mom has made my birthday cakes in specific shapes. Heather decided to take over. She made the cake shaped like a baby because we all know what has been on my mind lately.

I know, I just turned 23 and Heather gave me a "Fancy Nancy" book. But I LOVE "Fancy Nancy". And most childrens books for that matter.

Cardston Temple

The Salmon's and the Curtis' at the Cardston Alberta temple. This is where Robert's parents and many other relatives of ours were married.

Bears Hump

This is overlooking Waterton Glacier Park. Our campground is to the right of mom. There are so many more things we did and pictures I took that I can't put on here simply because there are way too many. We rented mo-peds, played tennis/pickleball/football, swam in waterton lake, hiked, and saw a ton of animals. Anyway this picture is at the top of our hike up to Bear's Hump.

The chipmunks at the top of Bear's Hump (the hike) are so freindly. They climb right up on your lap. My mom screams everytime one touches her. Kinda funny. Robert, Tanner, Autumn and I fed them grandpa's whole bag of peanuts... I hope grandpa didn't want any for himself!

Okay, so Robert's hand is in front of his face, but if it wasn't, you could imagine it would be a really cute picture. Too bad the chipmunk didn't stay there long enough for me to take another one!

24th of July

The morning of the 24th of July celebrations starts with a parade. I am standing between Autumn and Garth. We are showing off the candy we gathered during the parade. The highlight of the parade was when someone on a firetruck threw a water balloon at Garth and it didn't pop... he went down the street chasing after them and got them back! It is just a short little parade which was perfect for a small town. (There isn't even a gas station in the whole town, but we love it).

After the baseball games we go down the the river bottom to cool off.

Autumn was quite mad because whenever we took pictures it "looks like Tanner is her husband." Anyways, I am just putting this one in for her... we are at a smaller lake right by Cameron Lake. Both are very beautiful places!

Fath's Birthday

Robert and I couldnt figure out what to get fath for his birthday, so we finally decided to paper mashay him a pinata. We hung it on a line between the two motorhomes. Tanner was on the roof of one motorhome and moved the line to make sure it was not easy for fath to hit the pinata.

Well...after a few hits the candy came out. Fath is making a funny face because the candy in his mouth was a lot hotter than he expected.

Red Rock Canyon

The whole family went to Red Rock Canyon on our last day of vacation. Robert, Fath, Tanner, Chris, Elbert etc. hiked all the way up the river and most of them have scratches and bruises to prove it! Along the way there are lots of naturally made waterslides. Here is fath (aka Darrell Paxman) going down one of them into the glacier water. Brrr.

Fourth of July Parade

Spencer, Robert and I decided to join hundreds of others by spending the night along the parade sidelines. We had to save a good spot. All night long we had the joy of hearing cars drive down the road and honk their horn. And we were on a slant so whenever I laid down in my sleeping bag I would slowly start sliding into the road. But I am glad we went. We had fun playing cards, and now we don't ever have to do it again.

Stadium of Fire

The Stadium of fire was PACKED! Tickets were hard to come by, but Robert managed to get some for us. We had so much fun. We watched members of the military skydive and land right on the field in front of us. Dancers celebrated the Olympic Summer Games. 3 military families got the suprise of talking to their husbands/fathers across sattlelight infront of all of us. Blue Man group played their instruments. Miley Cyrus sang and danced. Finale was a fire work show! Here are members of the United States Army holding up our flag. The announcer spent quite a bit of time celebrating those who serve for our country. Which they well deserve. We thought of our brother in law Tim.

This is Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana! Oh my goodness the little girl sitting next to me (probably 5 or 6) started sreaming and dancing as soon as Miley walked in. She didn't stop until Miley walked out. Every time she spun in a circle while dancing her braids wacked me in the face. I didn't mind, she was really cute. We also enjoyed seeing Miley...although we wern't quite as enthusiastic as our neighbor.

Antelope Island

Kjarsta told us about a state park (on the Great Salt Lake) called Antelope Island. It looked like a sandy paradise from the car, but as we got closer to the waters edge we were drowning in bugs. Here are Robert's feet to give you a slight idea of how many bugs there were in every square inch. It wasn't bad though once you got into the water. So we hung out in the water the majority of the time..which was what we came to do. So we had fun.

I have never been able to float in water before (unless I was wearing water wings or a life vest) but it was so easy at the Great Salt Lake. It felt like we were laying on top of the water...as Spencer is demonstrating.

The sand was to wet to build anything fabulous...so we basically built a big pile of sand and plated it with rocks and called it good.

Salt had dried all over us! It was worth taking a freezing shower to get it all off.
